How Do I Look for a Job When I Can’t Afford Gas?

By Jackie

The job I lost

Hello. My name is Jackie and it’s been 1 1/2 yrs that I’ve been without work. My job closed on me unexpectedly and I’ve been looking for work every since then. Now my unemployment has been exhausted, there’s no money to pay something on bills and my rent is due. I need food on the table as well. Now without money coming in to put gas in my car, how do I go out and look for a job???  This is a no win situation!

What it’s like being unemployed

downes couch web Being without work is such a terrible thing , you have lost your sense of security. The family is depending on you and you can’t provide when you’ve been the backbone that supported them! You feel like you have let everyone down and you lose a part of your identity.

Editor’s Note: I have stories like this coming in every day.  The news says that the economy is strong… then where are the jobs and why are our Veteran Hero’s not getting work?  Our Sponsor 2KonnectKares has a solution that works for anyone willing to go to work.  It’s not a freebie, but it’s a scholarship that will help people get back on their feet, making the kind of money needed to put bread on the table and pay the bills. And it can benefit their friends and family as well. Please support the cause by donating something today. We have people who have donated just $5 and some who have donated $5000… it’s up to you and what you think it’s worth to help those who have fought to protect your right to work and play and be safe in this country. Bitter and Stressed Out by Unemployment

I wonder if you can feel the heartache and frustration in this veterans story?

The job I lost

I lost my sales job. It was bogus in the first place but I first left because it was so bad and then they wanted me to return. I did, but then I was basically given my last check.

What a joke, to say the least.

homeless-woman-in-barrio-triste-medellin What it’s like being unemployed

It has been the roughest times in my life to be unemployed right now. Everything is so hard and I don’t know who to reach out to at this point. It seems like every job that I get doesn’t last and isn’t working for me.

It’s rough and miserable. I don’t have money to do anything life is hard and cold it seems. I’ve never had this problem before in my life and I’ve never felt so bitter and stressed out before in my life.

Advice

  • I don’t have advice right now, to be honest. Sell drugs? I think that earns people a lot of cash and I’ve been considering it.
  • I think that would be the best option, not hardly but I’m actually considering it.
  • Honolulu really is a twisted city. In the long run you see it and realize how cruel and sick people are, counting myself at one time. There’s hatred and racist garbage that always makes things worse.

Veteran is Homeless and Unemployed…

Steven PhillipsI was in the Army 10 years. Got out after Iraq. It has been a constant slide til this past year I hit rock bottom. Divorced, homeless and unemployed I tried to commit suicide for the fourth time. I found myself in a veteran’s home where I was finally cared for. Social workers who listened, doctors who cared, I’m not completely home yet, and after my experiences in Iraq, I never will be, but at least I am finally learning to manage with the pain and baggage. Every day I weep, every day I hurt and ache, every day I long for someone to see the potential in me, a classically trained chef who can’t even get a job in fast food. Like I said, I’ll never be who I was, but I can learn to live with who I have become.

I would be happy with any work I can find…

Although this happened a few years ago, this is not uncommon today. We will bring you more stories of the challenges unemployed veterans have…  Please help with your contributions and help us help the veterans struggling to find work.

The job I lost

I was recently discharged from the US ARMY back in February 09, and have not been able to find work since then. I have been surviving on unemployment since I got out.

What it’s like being unemployed

Since then my wife and I have been searching for jobs, up until she found out she wpregnant-womanas pregnant. I continued to look, we even moved from MI to FL thinking work could be found there, but there we found a major unemployment rate, too.

So we moved back to MI in October 09. We were surviving on unemployment the whole time we were searching. My wife had our daughter on January 11th of this year and since then she has gotten back to searching for work just as much as I have. But now that congress has denied the extension, we worry about how we are going to pay our bills, and take care of our daughter. With out the extension we are going to lose our car, which is the only means of transportation that we have. If that happens we have no way of going out to search for the much needed jobs. The unemployment is the only way that we are going to be able to survive.

Advice

  • I have learned that you should not take any job that you have for granted. I had no choice but to be discharged. But for the people who quit a job just because they don’t like it, It is foolish. I would be happy with any work I can find, just because I know it will help my family.

What is the Veteran’s HERO Scholarship Program?

Click on the link to the right to donate… Thank you…

The Veteran’s HERO Scholarship Program is one where 2KonnectKares is gathering funds together to implement a working program that helps a Veteran  who is unable to get a job because of health or disabilities issues, or is someone who has tried to find work and does not have the skills needed to secure a job other than menial labor or someone who isn’t making the income needed to provide even the basic necessities for him/herself or their family, make enough money monthly to support themselves financially.

The problem?  Lack of ability, lack of skill, lack of education, lack of opportunity, lack of trust.

It’s a growing problem, over 1 million veterans are impacted and 2KonnectKares has identified a solution that will help them get up on their feet  financiallState Unemploymenty with a stable monthly income, by opening up ability options, training, education, opportunity and  believing in them enough to reach out and help.

2KonnectKares has made alliances with many Home Based Businesses that are working together to start  a personal business for the Veteran, train and teach them how to manage their business and then help that  business get to a point of making enough money to maintain itself into the future.  Within 3 months the  Veteran then has a source of income that is stable, sustainable and growable to whatever level they choose to  take it.

This is not charity… this is not a handout… this is a hand up, a scholarship, a helping hand, a way to learnveteran-hire-me

some new skills and start a new career that will provide for them and their families for the rest of their lives.

No other Veteran support program implemented has taken on a task of this magnitude or this direct to the Veteran him/herself to provide an immediate employment solution.

This requires a huge investment in time and money to make it work, from people like you and me.  It’s taking the Veteran back to learning, helping them start a new business venture and then training them to be successful in their new career.

We are asking anyone and everyone who has ever been blessed by the defense of the Military Veteran to consider helping with this cause.  We ask that you donate some money to give back to those who have served us and who are struggling to get a job and live a normal, productive life as an honorable citizen of the USA.

Please donate something, anything today…   It is greatly appreciated…  and will be put to work to help a Veteran start a new career so they can provide for themselves.

God bless the USA Veteran!

2KonnectKares non-profit Announces:

There are many American Veterans that have come home from serving our country and can’t find work for numerous reasons.  Challenges with health, with trust, with the economy, with education, and others. Yet they are respectable citizens of this great nation and we want to honor them and help them succeed as fellow citizens, family and friends.

2KonnectKares has taken on the daunting task of helping to find employment for over 1 million veterans who are out of work, can’t find work and yet want to work and be respected citizens.  There are lots of people and corporations who are helping them with services and benefits but these men and women don’t want charity or handouts as much as they want to work and earn their way.  Respect, Honor, Tradition, Valor – these are what they want.

2KonnectKares has created the Veterans HERO Scholarship Program to get them started on a home based business that they can participate in and have the respect of earning an income from multiple sources that will provide more than enough to support themselves without government handouts or welfare.

But, it takes a source of funds to get them started. 2KonnectKares is building that source of funds through Donations, Grants, Business Growth and Humanitarian Funds to be able to help start the Veterans HERO Scholarship Program as soon as possible. Our soft-launch date is June 1, 2015 but can be move up if we get the funds needed to get started.

2KonnectKares has 5 Home Based Businesses ready to implement this program immediately once funding is available. We need $1067 a month for 4 months for each veteran we get started to help them make enough to sustain the expenses for themselves and their family.. Then, through education and training, they learn to continue and build those businesses on their own into ongoing income each month.  We also have services to help them save some each month for future needs, retirement and emergency, just like any other family would with a steady, beneficial income.

We need your help.  As they say, “Many hands make light work.” and so many small donations make up the big amount of support we need to help as many veterans as we can become successful, employed citizens of this great country, honoring them to succeed where many are now failing to find the employment they need.

The Veterans HERO Scholarship Program has been touted as the best practical benefit program for the unemployed veterans that has ever been conceived and employed.  Please consider donating as much as you feel comfortable with and we will put every dollar to work for veterans all over the USA that need this program to survive with Respect, Honor, Integrity and Valor.

God Bless the USA Veteran!
