Veterans Need Employment Help – please donate today…
You’d think a Veteran would have it easy coming home from fighting for the USA in foreign lands. We see people standing and applauding when they come off airplanes and home to their loved ones… We see people offering them seats on planes, buses, trains and think, “Yea, they are being well taken care of.”
Yet, a Veteran has a tough time finding work. Yup, we see businesses saying they hire Vets, but the hard truth is that many Vets are unemployed because they just don’t fit into the traditional scenario.
Imagine being a man of 22 who has just come back from a Tour of Duty in charge of $20 million dollar equipment and a team of 10 men, leading them into a battle and surviving with only 3 of his team. Imagine what he is thinking… Imagine trying to get a job and not being qualified to be a manager of a fast food restaurant. How would you feel?
Sometimes as business owners we don’t understand just what the Hire A Vet really means in today’s world. And sometimes we are just plain scared to hire a vet!
2KonnecKares saw this problem and came up with a solution that helps Veterans and Businessmen alike. Let the Veteran earn an income where he is safe and comfortable. Learning to be back in the USA where he is safe and secure from terrorists and the threat of life or death situations and still be able to work in a safe and secure place is far better than being without a job and feeling useless and unwanted. I get that we are not 100% safe in the USA, but it sure beats being in Afghanistan or Iraq right now… and being able to work and taking care of his family is far better to his mental and emotional security too.
You can sponsor an Unemployed Veteran by donating $250 at www.PayPal.com/Send use this email address… donate@2KonnectKares.org to send a donation. The $250 will scholarship a HERO for 4 months to help him/her start a Home Based Business and make it profitable from the first month. The Veteran and use the scholarship to grow their business so they earn enough to pay bills and put food on the table.
Please help… donate right now… before you forget… Thanks!
Decorated Veteran Asks “Why Am I Jobless?”
The job I lost
Since I retired from the military, all I could get was one temporary job after another. I worked at Sears Grand in Cape Girardeau, MO but they lost so much business I was cut to 8 hours a week. I took whatever I could get and had to go job to job. I was at Lowes in the same town and was doing well, when an unethical department manager was making sexual comments about female customers. I tried to talk to management about his comments, and surprise, I was the one who got fired. I moved to Kerrville TX, and was at Home Depot, 8 hours/week again. I took a salvation army temp job at Christmas. Sigh, jobless again. I have many skills too.
What it’s like being unemployed
It is a terrible feeling. I see so many people, mostly youth, that do not even apply themselves at their work. Their work ethic is pathetic, yet here I am, a decorated 20 year navy veteran with many skills, professional character and great work ethic, out of work. It just does not make sense to me. What does a man have to do to make a living in this country? Is this how we give fellow Americans and military veterans opportunities? By throwing them in the street and ignoring them? I am losing hope. I work my butt off for anyone. I can drive fork lift, stock merchandise, am great with people, knowledgeable in tools and building materials, was an awesome cook in the military. Why am I jobless and why are so many others employed that stand around and cheat their employers? It is so demeaning and demoralizing! I need a miracle.
Advice
- I do not let being unemployed stop me from helping others. I feel the need to volunteer often because people have needs and I was put on earth to be useful. At 48,I am fit and work hard so I use what I know to assist in any way I can. I love playing piano to raise money at Christmas for homeless. I will do what God gave me the ability to do. Never give up on YOU. Even when people will not hire you or give you a break, do not quit on YOU. God has not quit on you. Life is worth living and you are needed. You just have to find how to let yourself be needed. There is always hope.
